The luxury cottage lies in the heart of the picturesque Exe Valley, Devon between the traditional market town of Tiverton and Bampton, known as the gateway to Exmoor. Both small towns have the usual array of shops, restaurants and pubs. The luxury cottage has direct access to the Exe Valley Way, a major walking route that links into footpaths to Dartmoor and Exmoor. The vibrant Cathedral City of Exeter is less than half and hours drive. The delights of the Devon coastal resorts are also within an easy drive; sandy beaches at Exmouth and Dawlish are perfect for bucket and spade days. The surf and wild cliffs of North Devon are easily accessible within an hour in the car; your luxury self catering cottage is ideally placed to enjoy all that Devon has to offer.

Places of Interest
Bampton
Bampton lies to the edge of Exmoor, and it's centre has over 100 listed buildings in it. It is famous for it's floral displays, and Bampton fair is held every October. 5 miles from your luxury holiday cottage.
Barnstaple
Mid Devon centre for shops. Pannier market open daily except Sundays. Said to be the home of the traffic jam (you have been warned). 25 miles from your self catering cottage in Devon.
Bickleigh
A meeting point on the River Exe with very good walking and eateries. Legend has it that the song 'Bridge over Troubled Water' was written here. It also has a reputable vineyard, 10 miles from your luxury cottage near Exmoor.
Bradninch
On the American Heritage trail as the birthplace of Daniel Boone's father, and is home to the world's oldest goldfish, which is 44 years old!
Clovelly
Clovelly is a traditional Devon port renowned for its narrow cobbled streets leading down to its famous quay scene. There are a range of gift shops and pubs in the village, a 45 mile drive from your Devon base, but well worth it.
Exeter
County town of Devon and major shopping centre. Wondrous gothic cathedral. Quayside hosts a maritime museum and has a real buzz at the fashionable bars and shops, only 20 miles from your luxury cottage near Exmoor.

Lundy Island
Off the shore of Hartland, North Devon is the National Trust Island of Lundy. It has a shop and a pub along with a few houses for its residents. Every day the ferry to it leaves from Bideford quay (20 min. by car) to take passengers to and from Lundy. The passage is choppy at the best of times, so not for the faint hearted! Helicopters make the journey with greater speed and agility from Westward Ho!
Tiverton
Market town on the River Exe with an excellent pannier market and local shops. Home of the award winning museum of Mid Devon life and a castle. 2 miles from Hatswell Meadows, Tiverton.

Dawlish
Traditional South Devon Victorian English beach resort. Try a cream tea in the Old Mill Tea rooms-you will not be disappointed! 25 miles from Tiverton, Devon.
Exmouth
Family beach resort, close to the riverside town of Topsham that is famed throughout the south west for it's antique shops. 25 miles from Tiverton, Devon.
Padstow
A traditional Cornish fishing village that happens to house Rick Steins empire of restaurants, shops and hotels. A good two and a half hours drive from your luxury cottage, Devon.
Torquay
Described as the British Riviera, Torquay, in South Devon has a lively marina and all of the razmatz of a major resort. 35 miles from Hatswell Meadows

Diggerland
This is not a joke, and is a really wonderful day out for children in Devon. It is a fantastic adventure park with real JCB's.
Eden Project
It takes about an hour and a half to drive to Eden, Cornwall, and it is well worth it. A unique experience which enables you to experience Mediterranean and tropical climates in the giant biosphere's. A wonderful day out at any time of the year. 1,1/2 drive from Hatswell Meadows, Tiverton.
